What this program is
A 4-month program teaching Python and backend fundamentals first, then AI, so you can design, build, and deploy real backend systems for your own products or clients.
Month by month, week by week
Month 1
Programming Fundamentals with Python
- Week 1: Python basics: variables, data types, control flow
- Week 2: Functions, OOP, modules and packages
- Week 3: Data structures, file handling, error handling
- Week 4: SQL basics and working with databases
Month 2
Backend Fundamentals
- Week 5: Intro to a web framework (FastAPI), routing, request/response handling
- Week 6: Building REST APIs
- Week 7: Databases in depth (PostgreSQL), ORMs (SQLAlchemy)
- Week 8: Authentication and authorization (JWT, OAuth)
Month 3
Building Real Systems
- Week 9: Payments integration (Paystack or Flutterwave), webhooks
- Week 10: Testing, debugging, API documentation
- Week 11: Deployment basics (Docker)
- Week 12: Performance, security basics, caching
Month 4
AI Integration and Final Project
- Week 13: Understanding LLMs (shared session), then building AI-powered endpoints
- Week 14: RAG basics, vector databases, intro to agentic workflows
- Week 15: Final project build (week 1)
- Week 16: Final project build (week 2) and demo day
What you need to join
- A laptop
- At least 10 hours a week available to participate
- Stable internet connection

Deployment is done on GCP. Costs depend on usage; GCP's free tier covers most student projects.
Scholarships
Every student who passes the readiness quiz is eligible for a scholarship. Scholarships are applied through the learning portal after admission.
